04 Feb 06 Sometimes, Humanity Prevails

I opened up some backed-up links I hadn’t read yet, and found this Sun-Times article:

After suffering a string of losses — a father’s job, his VA benefits, their home to a fire, their son to the war — the Alcozer family of Elmhurst learned Tuesday just how much their misfortunes had touched others.

As of Tuesday afternoon, more than $250,000 had arrived in cards and handwritten letters — many from veterans and widows — from all over the country.

Nice. Nice.

This, by the way, was after Fred Fuckin’ Phelps protested at their poor son’s funeral. Yes, he and his insane asshole cult followers do this. If the Christian view of the afterlife is indeed true, I think I would pay cash money to watch him stand before God and get his just desserts. He seems to have skipped over an important piece of Scripture.
