    The Datahand Ergonomic Keyboard is amazing! Here are three ergonomic tricks i use:

    Shoulder & wrist
    ============
    I work with a mouse wheel (aka a “cat”) instead of a mouse. This eases shoulder tension completely (i put the cat on my lap), and also somewhat relieves the wrist tension, although not completely.

    1. I use an LCD screen.
    2. I use a “negative” color scheme whenever possible, i.e. bright fonts on dark background. This is incredibly effective!

    What happens if you get a ‘charlie horse’ in your thumb?? :-)

    Not quite sure what you mean by that, JHH. I sometimes have a tingling sensation in my thumb. Then i stop typing, and lightly jerk my shoulder and wrist.

    I’m wary of ergonomic keyboards. I’ve tried one in the past. My hands were constrained to a bizarre Kama-Sutran position. It didn’t make typing any easier, and had strange collateral effects: brushing my teeth proved exceptionally awkward during that time. I soon dumped the keyboard, and i now enjoy clean and healthy teeth.

    The best keyboards make it easy to pound on the keys, but provide good shock absorbents and springs to them. I’m not sure that the common quadrilateral frame is so horrible.
